Welp, football is over for me. Enjoyed a spirited FCS Championship game yesterday with NDSU getting their 7th, and a bummer of a loss for Da Bears. Good luck to the teams and fans remaining!

That was a heart breaker. My son played goalie on his soccer team and I used the place kicker analogy with him. If you have to win a game by making a field goal (or saving a PK ) then your team hasn’t done its job. That said, if you have to make the kick (or the save), you damned well better make it. I don’t know why anybody would want to be a kicker.

You bring up a good point about relying on the kicker. Parkey was responsible for 9 of the 15 points. Had Mitch and Co. shook their playoff nerves a little earlier, that game would have been locked in for the bears. Of course, everyone looks at the last opportunity as the root cause, but Bears offense was non existent in the first half.
